Is this another case of Mr. Riebe and Mr. Hermanson overcharging on unprovable evidence, or is it a case of incompetant prosecution unable to convince a jury when the evidence indicates actual guilt?
Nope in these cases the person has to prove their innocent. Not the way it should be but if you question the innocense of this man look on the internet about case like this, and you will find out that in cases where a person is accused of a crime like this they have to prove their innosences. What you are reading is for once Justice Prevailed he had to prove his innoncense. His attroney as well as himself taking the stand did reread the article. In alot of ways the DA had a slam dunk they charged him every possible way they could to send this man away, but in all charges the Jury was not hung it was Innocent. Now this man has to pick up the piece to a shattered life when accused of such a crime, and the sadist part is he has to start all over again after 2 long years.
It is true that Anthony was interrogated and arrested the day the accusation was made, and the charges were initially filed against him without ANY proof other than the words of the alleged victim. Any innocent person charged with something like this really does have to prove his or her innocence, at great personal cost and risk. There really are no winners in a situation like this.
Not interrogated or arrested told to go turn himself in, which he did. Investigator asked should I call the girl a liar. Not knowing until he got there (jail) (DRIVING HIMSELF) what his charges were, without his girlfriend every talking to him again or her daughter about it. Most of that part of the trail are not written.
Actually, he was interrogated at length, then told to turn himself into two other officers present, which constituted an arrest.
Small place we live in. Stockton, Sacramento none of us would be commenting. Live in Amador County and everyone knows whats going on with everyone.

Mr. Hermanson is the most competent attorney in this county when it comes to criminal cases. This was a unique case with unique facts and plenty of challenges for both sides.
Also, it wasn’t Mr. Hermanson that initially charged this case. The case was handed off to him some time later.
I am so glad anthony was found not guilty. Our family believed in him the whole time! What is sad is that this broke up him and his girlfriend and the time he has lost with his daughter.
i could not agree with you more! I broken family! Why????? Maybe in the long run it is better but difficult to believe. An Accusation like that makes you wonder why a young person would be so deceitful and should his daughter be raised in a family like this? Dad needs to get on his job, and get his daughter safe!!!!!!!!!! He can now, after two years?
Where is his ex girlfriend and what does she think?
I agree with all of you and especially “tiredandretired”.
There was a time Riebe had respect but I believe that was prior to being the D.A. and a few other things that we tax payer do not know about!!! But who is going to listen to us? I think many would be surprised to know some confidential things about him which might really change who he is. It is not that long ago he became the D.A.
What is very sad it that Mr. Garibaldi will always be convicted of these crimes. People will always wonder, point & stare. This poor man has a young child that he was kept from for 2 years. If he is truly innocent this poor child and father has lost precious time that can never be replaced. He deserves a public apology from the “Victim” and her immediate family to release him of these horrible, horrible accusations!! Let it be known that this public conviction has ultimately ruined this mans life and his family name. He deserves the apology and I hope someday he gets it.
I’m disgusted at you people. If human nature has taught me one thing, it would be that human beings are the single most corruptable and malicious entities in the entire world. No one expects the kind man down the street to be a serial murderer, nor do they expect the innocent old lady on the corner to be a prostitute. As long as you live in your perfect untouched world everything is right, isn’t it? Just because a Jury of MEN decides that one is innocent does not make such an event true. You all became outraged when Casey Anthony was found innocent, but not now. Not when a child molester roams free. Feeble minded Maggots.

Unfortunately in this case he’s guilty even when proven innocent. Until he receives his public apology he will never be released of this as you can see in the ignorance of some of these comments.
I agree with Farris, guilty guy gets off again. I guess his DNA magically flew onto the victim, but who would expect a jury to apply common sense and logic in a case. Hopefully Garibaldi will leave the county and take his supporters with him. I feel sorry for the real victim, the CHILD.

1st of all, I am not ignorant as I have looked at every aspect of this case from the relationship of anthony to his ex girlfriend, to the very night in question; whereas I have heard statements from: the victim, the victim’s assaultor, the assaultor’s parents to the ex girlfriend and so on. Secondly, as homosapiens from the very origin of our existance, quoting biblical references to the very cultural views of today, we are considered “mankind” and I will address the race of man as such; women inclusive in said statement. I will not say that I feel strongly about this issue but I cannot, and will not stand silent in the face of justifiable corruption as it undermines the American Justice System as well as it smudges the fine reputation of this well -thought-of county. Anthony is a criminal who has beaten the justice system like all guilty persecutors before him and the many more to come after him. And just to clear things up “Uhoo7″ to strongly take one stance on an issue and claim it as “truth” is a boldly ignorant statement and you should feel ashamed that such an irreoneously irrelevant claim escaped your very lips.

everyone is saying anthony is sweet and innocent…really. do you know who really is sweet and innocent the child the victim. i am ashamed of our system when a 38 year old crack head can get away with touching a child and leave his
DNA and be called sweet and innocent…when will we hear the VOICE of the child who will live with what he did to her..how brave of her to tell her father. only to be called a liar. my thoughts and prayers go to the young girl and her family and hope that she gets the support she will need for the future to assure she grows into healthy young woman.

I agree with “uhoo7″. I’ve known Anthony since I was a little girl and these accusations are absolutely absurd! He is one of the most respectful people I’ve ever met.. He has the Biggest heart and would do anything to help people. My heart truly goes out to him. I couldn’t imagine what he is going through. People are so vicious it sickens me to see what some of you are saying.. I know people aren’t always what they appear to be, but children/teenagers are not always honest either esp. when they don’t like something or someone.. And to go as far as calling him a “38 year old crack head” I mean come on.. REALLY?! That’s not cool or true at all. And that is a Fact!
He is innocent (I’ve always believed he was) and now the courts have proven him innocent. So, why must everyone keep saying such hurtful things… Let him move on and try and live his life. He has already been through enough and is going to have to live with all of this forever now. People don’t forget and will always have their opinions and being in a small county doesn’t help.

Wow Sherrie, guess you never did anything in your past that your ashamed of. Saints are few and far between and just because someone made mistakes in their past doesn’t mean they are child molesters! WTF is wrong w/you? Sad that your raising children w/such hate and narrow mindedness. God forbid your children fall into the wrong crowd when they are young or make some mistakes. Actually I do have children and I only say these things because I have witnessed it being done. I’m not blind, my eyes are open. I’ve seen loved one’s go threw the things you are talking about and yes, A LOT of the the time it is someone you’d least expect. (weather it be their parents, grandparents, or someone from their church) Anyway, us people who know and love Anthony know the truth and are going to be here for him and support him. I could sit here trying to convince you till I’m blue in the face and it wouldn’t matter, you are gonna believe what you want. Shouldn’t your comment really say…..I am not 100% that he did it – instead of lashing out at people? Only 2 people really know the truth. Honestly, the entire situation is extremely troubling, if he is innocent he will always be guilty and if he is guilty he will be punished. Either way I am saddened by all of it and definitely disgusted with you.
BTW, you may want to seek counseling for yourself.
I’d like to offer a few observations about this case:
1. A “not guilty” finding does not establish that a defendant is innocent. Defendants who are guilty may be found “not guilty” for a variety of reasons.
2. Odds of “one in 93 million” are definitive.
3. Juries make mistakes, as the O. J. Simpson murder trial demonstrated.
4. According to Dr. Anna Salter, Ph.D., a recognized expert on the subject of sex offenders, “…a double llife is prevalent among all types of sex offenders…the front that offenders typically offer to the outside world is usually a “good person,’ someone who the community believes has a good character and would never do such a thing.”
5. False accusations of sexual abuse by children are rare. Children who have been abused are likely to initially deny or minimize the abuse to which they have been subjected. pseverson

Samee_8888, Truth is a very loose ended word built on common knowledge at the present time. It was truth and common knowledge in the 15th century that the world was flat. It was truththat the sun revolved around the earth before Galileo did any research. I find it fascinating what truth we will know tomorrow or the next day. Don’t you?
