Bob and Diane Gassaway of Crucible Jewelry Studios in Jackson present Lenore Miller of Volcano with diamond earrings. Miller won the earrings at the American Legion Blue Mountain Post 787 first-ever Lalapalooza Raffle on Lumberjack Day in West Point. Miller is the vice commander of American Legion Post 108 in Amador County and was wounded during her tour in Iraq. Other winners included Doris Brossard of West Point, who won a wine tour package courtesy of the Jackson Rancheria. Brossard said she wants to donate the prize to the Blue Mountain Players Community Theatre in West Point. Bill Dacus of Merced won a 42-inch HDTV donated by Mission Electronics of Martell. Lester Crabb of Mountain View won a Weatherby 30-06 rifle, courtesy of Rusty's Gunsmithing in San Andreas. The raffle raised more than $4,400 which will be used to provide assistance for veterans and various community projects.
