In Gwen Clayton's debut novel, "Fermata Cellars," the main ghost is a Chinese-American woman named Xin Vondella - known to the townsfolk as Zinfandel. Vondella was born Oct. 25, 1820. After her death in 1848, she continued to haunt the area even after the land was developed into a winery in 1969.

Now in 2016, readers can celebrate Zinfandel's birthday with her namesake wine paired with small bites from Taste Restaurant.
