Volcano Theatre Company is pleased to present Marsha Norman’s Pulitzer Prize-Winning “Night Mother,” in the Cobblestone Theatre, through May 19. Performances are every Friday and Saturday night with doors opening at 7:30 p.m., and curtain at 8 p.m. This is a one-act play lasting roughly ninety minutes with no intermission. Wine lovers are invited to enjoy A Divine Affair, a wine-tasting event, from 6 to 9 p.m., in the Grand Oak Ballroom and on the Garden Terrace at the Jackson Rancheria Hotel. The event features dozens of Northern California wineries, plus food and entertainment. Join Amador Spanish students and music lovers at an evening concert by Puerto Rican singer and guitarist Fernando Ferrer. A main influence in his music was the Nueva Trova (new ballad) Cuban music genre which has a great many fans. Carpool is available to the outdoor concert area at Miller Art Complex, 2700 Front Street, in Sacramento, the new home of La Raza Galeria Posada which is sponsoring this event. The second annual Barbera Festival will host more than 80 wineries at Cooper Ranch, in Plymouth, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Live music will be provided by Bay Area band, Brothers Comatose, and 10 of the region’s top restaurants and chefs will offer a variety of gourmet dishes. Cooper Ranch is located at 21365 Shenandoah School Road, Plymouth. Tickets are $40 per person in advance, and includes admittance, wine tasting, commemorative wine glass and free on-site parking. Food is sold separately. Attendees must be 21 years or older and show valid ID as proof of age upon entering the festival. Main Street Theatre Works presents “The Taming of the Shrew” — Jersey style. The show opens at the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre June 22 and runs Friday and Saturday nights, thru July 21.
