Sutter Amador Women's Services announces programs available for underinsured, uninsured patients
Sutter Amador Women's Services offers primary care, midwifery, counseling and obstetrics and gynecologic outpatient services. In addition, Sutter Amador Women's Services is now an approved site for the State of California Breast and Cervical Cancer Detection and Family Planning Programs for underinsured and uninsured patients.
Sutter Amador Women's Services is located in the Quail Hollow Business Complex at 255 New York Ranch Road, Ste. C in Jackson.
The two programs for qualifying patients are Family PACT (Planning, Access, Care and Treatment) Family Planning Program and BCCDP (Breast and Cervical Cancer Detection Program).
The Family PACT program can financially assist eligible patients with all family planning needs including basic reproductive health assessments, contraceptive counseling and education and pap and pelvic examinations. In addition, the Family PACT program provides information regarding prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, female and male sterilization, HIV testing and counseling. Family PACT is also available for those who have insurance, which may not cover family planning services or prescriptions.
For eligible, low-income women, BCCDP coverage includes breast or pelvic examinations. For qualifying women age 25 and over, it includes a pap and pelvic examinations. For women age 40 and over, it covers clinical breast examinations and mammograms. Once a patient is enrolled, follow-up procedures needed such as cervical cancer treatment, breast surgery or chemotherapy are covered as well.

"Both programs are an asset to Amador County and will help with pregnancy and breast and cervical cancer prevention."
