The Amador Support, Transportation and Resource Services for cancer patients and Pioneer Travel Service have announced the Third Annual Amador County Bunco for Breast Cancer will take place May 18 at the St. Sava Mission.
This new, larger location will allow for more players this year. Bunco for Breast Cancer is a fun-filled event for men and women to support their friends who have been affected by cancer. Friends gather for an evening of bunco playing and bidding on auction items. There is a silent auction, live auction, pink ribbon store and a raffle, in addition to the bunco play. New players are encouraged to join, as no experience is necessary to roll the dice. A chocolate fountain and dessert buffet is included in the admission.
Raffle tickets are available (need not be present to win), for a chance to win a Carnival Baja cruise this fall, donated by Pat Thurin of Pioneer Travel Service. Silent auction items include quilts, wine, golf certificates and much more. To donate a prize to this event, call the Amador STARS.
Proceeds from this event remain local and assist cancer patients in many ways. One of the new programs made available by the Amador STARS through the proceeds for this event include the new wig program.
Women who are in cancer treatment are encouraged to call the Amador STARS and receive a new wig of their choice, along with a styling of the wig. Services for the wig program are donated by Laura Imperial of Hair Again Salon in Pine Grove. There is no charge to the patient for this service.
