Amador Shopping Plaza presents exotic, far away incentive to shop localThe Amador Shopping Plaza on Highway 88 in Martell is offering an exciting enticement to get folks shopping locally during this holiday season.
Now under way, the "Seek-to-Win" Contest works by participants gathering clues sprinkled throughout six different businesses in the Amador Shopping Plaza. Those participating will have a poster in the front window advertising the contest, which runs through Tuesday, Dec. 8. There is no limit to how many times a person can enter.
Participants can play daily or weekly. The grand prize is an all-expenses paid cruise for two to the Mexican Riviera. Other prizes include $100 gift certificates to local businesses such as Strings Italian Cafe and A Cut Above. Also up for grabs are a Sirius satellite radio from Mission Electronics, a case of wine from Save Mart, a gift basket compliments of Dollar Tree and a deluxe handbag from Canale's Shoes.
There are two ways of entering the contest, either by visiting any of the participating stores in the Amador Shopping Plaza, or the Amador Shopping Plaza's Web site at www.amadorshoppingplaza.com. From the homepage, simply click on the "Seek-to-Win" Contest to view the official rules and entry form. The newly launched Web site also includes downloadable coupons offering give-a-ways, price reductions and free services.

Glass Doctor teams up with Interfaith Food Bank The Glass Doctor of the Gold Country is supporting the Interfaith Food Bank this holiday season by collecting non-perishable food items for those less fortunate in the community.
Any and all items are needed, but especially the following: canned tuna, stew, soup, beans, chili, spaghetti sauce, green beans, corn or other vegetables; packaged pasta; dry pinto beans (in bags), boxed rice, corn meal (in boxes), healthy cereals, peanut butter, ready-to-eat baby formula and baby food.
For every item donated to the Interfaith Food Bank, Glass Doctor customers will receive $1 off their services and $1 will be donated to the Interfaith Food Bank. Donate 20 items, receive $20 off a Glass Doctor service.

New York Fitness pours it on in the morningQuick Fixx Foods, which currently provides healthy, ready-to-eat meals and snacks at New York Fitness, will now be offering a morning coffee service. Organic coffees and teas, as well as healthy bakery goods will be available Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Daily specials will include homemade chai tea and fresh smoothies. Coming soon are hot, homemade soups. Quick Fixx Foods is also available for office catering and offers fixed-calorie menu plans.
