Lake Camanche Fishing Report

The pond and north shore day use are still hot for those that know how to fish here at Camanche Recreation. The inflow from Pardee Lake remains 11 c.s.f. as of December 20 and the outflow from Lake Camanche was 180 c.s.f. Currently Lake Camanche is 57.95’ to spill level. As of last December 17, 300 pounds of Mt. Lassen trout have been planted. A total of 4,900 pounds have been planted in the pond. Imagine two girls playing together on a high school soccer team before heading off in two directions to play at two different colleges, only to reunite to play against each other in their collegiate league’s tournament championship game. And then from there, picture both their separate teams advancing to the same collegiate national championship tournament. Just imagine.

Austin Hoyt, and the BYU Cougars, traveled to northern California this past Friday to take on the Spartans of San Jose State. Austin got his second start of the season and played right tackle on the offensive line. There were a number of fans that traveled from Amador County to watch #71 play.

Game 1 of the World Series had a little bit of everything. There was a rare inside-the-park home run. Viewers watching the broadcast on Fox lost the game when Fox’s production trucks lost power. Fans were treated to extra innings and the second-longest Fall Classic game ever.

2012 Argonaut graduate, Austin Hoyt, has continued his football career at Brigham Young University after serving a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Austin spent the fall of 2012, at BYU, on the practice squad. He was able to redshirt that year and then left for his mission. Austin returned this past February from his mission in Colorado and went straight to spring football practice at BYU. The Stockton Heat opened its season on October 10 with a win against the Rockford IceHogs, 7-0. That puts them in a tie for first place in the AHL Pacific Division.
