If you just can’t wait six more days for the Amador County Fair, here’s some good news for you: The Fifth Annual Fair Kick-Off BBQ is tomorrow, Saturday, July 19. Come out to the fairgrounds for an evening of live music, dancing and hardy barbecued vittles.

The Amador County Fair Foundation has organized the Kick-off BBQ as a thank you to new and current foundation members, and as a celebration of the upcoming fair. Pat Crew, president of the Amador County Fair Foundation and emcee of tomorrow’s event commented, “Fair funding is gone, so we need more members in the foundation to give more money to the fair and keep it going.”

The Fair Kick-Off BBQ has preceded the Amador County Fair since 2009. This year, there is an expected turnout of 350 to 400 people who will enjoy barrel-roasted chicken, a no-host bar, a raffle, silent and live auctions and live music, featuring Sweet Revenge.

The fun begins at 6 p.m., at the Amador County Fairgrounds, at Picnic Hill, in Plymouth. Tickets are still available: $20 for adults, and $10 for kids. Call the Fair Office, at 245-6921, or buy your tickets at the gate on the evening of the barbecue.
