The following are selected entries from the Amador County Sheriff’s Dispatch call logs for the dates and times indicated.

July 28

10:48 a.m. Civil Standby, Keep the Peace at American Legion Hall on Airport Road in Martell for issues within family and members from out of town threatening to cause problems. A car has been keyed in a related vandalism call.

July 29

8:07 a.m. Citizen Assist on Buckhorn Lane in Pioneer. Caller states he acquired a trailer and an Arctic Cat from a residence that had been foreclosed on (items were left) and would like to be sure they are not stolen.

10:18 a.m. Suspicious Person on Shake Ridge Road in Pioneer. Caller was walking from the market and saw a tent in the trees and a white, male adult who looked dirty and homeless.

12:29 p.m. Theft of Property on Pioneer/Volcano road in Pioneer. Theft of mail for the past month suspected.

3 p.m. Suspicious Circumstances at Jackson city corporation yard. Report of two males “making out.”

3:48 p.m. Welfare Check at Mule Creek State Prison on Highway 104 in Ione. 911 hang up twice. Dispatch unable to reach watch commanders.

4:55 p.m. Found Property at Walmart on Wicklow Way in Martell. Reporting party found a purse in a shopping cart in the parking lot and brought it to the Sheriff’s Office.

5:19 p.m. Welfare Check on Schaefer Ranch Road in Pioneer. Caller concerned for alcoholic brother who is not eating nor caring for himself.

5:36 p.m. Citizen Assist on Clinton Bar Road in Pine Grove. Caller very upset that her phone service has been intermittent over the last few days. Says she is not getting anywhere with her phone company and started yelling when a sheriff’s dispatcher asked if she had contacted them.

6:34 p.m. Extra Patrol requested in River Pines due to some road closures still existing on the El Dorado County side that are accessible on the Amador side.

8:18 p.m. Suspicious Circumstances at Pokerville Market on Highway 49 in Plymouth. A 55-year-old female has cuts on her hands and blood on her front. Possibly drunk or drugged. Misdemeanor arrest.

8:43 p.m. Welfare Check on Snooks Lane in Pine Grove. Caller reporting two people having marital issues. A woman wants to leave but is afraid because the man is aggressive. Caller wants a deputy to speak to them.

8:45 p.m. Disturbing the Peace on Highway 88 in Pine Grove. Two white, male adults fighting in the middle of the road.

9:12 p.m. Animal Call at Shenandoah and Ostrom Road. Deer in the roadway.

9:34 p.m. Burglary at River Pines Public Utility District on Canyon Avenue in River Pines. Entry from personnel door on right side of building. Door pried open. Caller is a former board member who got a call about it.

11:26 p.m. Animal Call on Sugar Pine Court in Pioneer. Reporting party shot a bear. Said he fired four times at it in his driveway, it is shot and it ran off.

11:58 p.m. Suspicious Circumstances on Camanche Parkway North in Jackson Valley. Reporting party says there is a vehicle backed up to a business where they offer guitar lessons with the headlights on.
