Annette Kay Chastain passed away May 30, 2014 with her family by her side, at the age of 74. Anne was born to Vernon and Lillian Ethel Brown on July 11, 1939 in Sioux Falls, SD. Anne and her family relocated several times as a child due to her father’s work. She attended nurses training where she met and married a young Marine named Robert. They were married June 21, 1959 and moved to California. Anne worked in oral surgery for many years in Sacramento. Then a job opportunity came available and Anne and her family moved to Amador County in 1973. Anne worked for Bank of America in Jackson until her retirement. Then her and Robert moved to Texas and spent several years traveling across the United States before returning to their home in Sutter Creek. In 2012 Anne visited her 50th state, Alaska. She never had much interest in traveling out of the country. She always said there were too many wonderful things to see right here first. During her life she was an active member of her church and SAS sorority. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, watching old war movies and spending time with her family. Robert passed away in May 2011 and she moved to her final home in Jackson.

Anne is survived by her three daughters, Lori (Robert) Grant, Lynn Chastain and Wendy (Phil) Bovero, three grandchildren, Katie Grant, Kurst Bovero and Conner Bovero. Her brother Darrell Brown, Sister Verna Jamison and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Anne was a wonderful mother and friend, she will be truly missed.

A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 22601 Hwy 88 Pioneer, CA 95666 on June 25, 2014 at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Faith Lutheran Church or Amador Stars, PO Box 208 Jackson, CA 95642.
