The Mother Lode All-League baseball team has been released, and the Argonaut Mustangs did pretty well. The Mustangs, who fell one game short of the CIF section final, had a total of five players make the All-League teams. The Mustangs had four players make 1st team and one player made 2nd team.

Senior Tyler Love made 1st team All-League, leading the Mustangs with 29 hits and 22 steals. Love also had a season batting average of .382.

Another senior making 1st team All-League was Matt Huss, who compiled a whopping .452 batting average throughout the season. Add that to that his pitching, and it’s easy to see why he made 1st team. Huss had numerous no-hitters and a perfect game in his final year with the Mustangs.

A couple of freshmen rounded out Argonaut’s 1st team All-League designees, as Sean Purdy and Miles Tomczak were also named to the squad.

Purdy batted .295 and had a .482 on base percentage, while Tomczak led the Mustangs in RBI’s with 29, with 5 doubles, 7 triples and 4 home runs. These two freshmen have the future of Argonaut baseball looking bright.

Aaron Avitia made the 2nd team in the All-League voting. The senior had a .353 on base percentage, an .800 fielding percentage and a 2.36 ERA. It was a solid year all-around for Avitia.
