The California Highway Patrol and the Amador County Sheriff's Office are still looking for the driver of a motorcycle that was spotted speeding on Highway 88 west of Hurricane Hill earlier this week. As one officer began initiating a traffic stop on the motorcycle, the driver accelerated away at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.

As the vehicles approached Blue Sky Drive, the motorcycle driver lost control and crashed onto the soft shoulder. After the crash, the driver fled on foot and disappeared into a drainage ditch.

Multiple units from the CHP, along with sheriff's deputies and a canine officer, searched for the driver for several hours but were unable to locate him.

Anyone having information about this individual, or if you recognize the motorcycle, which did not have a license plate attached to it, is asked to call the Jackson CHP office at 209-223-4890.
