Connie’s Head to Toe All for Show is now opening on the corner of Highway 49/88, in downtown Jackson, offering full-service hair, color and waxing. Connie Holt has been styling hair for more than 27 years, with 22 of them right here in Amador County.

Holt began as a stylist at Liz & Company, in Sutter Creek. she then opened her own studio, named Connie’s Hair Raising Experience, in Sutter Creek. However when the by-pass was built she moved her business to Sutter Hill for a few years before buying her home, where she operated her business for more than three years. She enjoyed working from home but realized that she missed being in town  near the people. Not only an inspired hair color specialist and stylist, this Amador High alumnus has worn many hats over the years.

As a professional body builder, Holt placed first in the 2007 NPC Contra Costa Bodybuilding, Figure and Fitness Championships, and then again in 2009. Over the past few years, however, she has been taking care of her ailing parents here in Amador County. Her mother has suffered from cancer, and it has been hard on everyone in the family. So dedicated to the cause of finding a cure for cancer, Holt participates in many of the cancer events around town, and she offers a free cut or shave to any woman going through chemotherapy. Family and friends stop by regularly to enjoy the shop that is decorated with a splash of burlesque. Marilyn Monroe drapes the studio upon deep burgundy and black walls. Holt is hoping to have the most Monroe memorabilia in Amador County when she is finished placing her entire collection that she has gathered over the years. The shop’s Grand Opening is Sunday July 27, from 12 to 3 p.m., where Holt will be offering beverages and hors d’oeuvres. She invites you to stop by, at 30 State Highway 49/88, to see her new location. She is also offering a special for the month of June: any Saturday appointment or walk-in will receive $10 off any cut and style. The shop’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 11  a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, from 12 to 6 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, with appointments recommended for head-to-toe service. To schedule an appointment, call 304-1711.
