As of 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, CALFIRE says the Sand Fire has consumed 4,240 acres and is 90 percent contained, with full containment expected Aug. 2. Nineteen residences and 47 outbuildings have been burned. All evacuation orders have been lifted, including Painted Pony Rd. The Red Cross evacuation shelter located at the Ponderosa High School has been closed.
