Last Saturday’s Volcano Cannonball Run Classic Car Show had it all — classic cars and muscle cars, an Independence Day Parade, fun foods, live music by Crystal Image and The Route 88 Band, arts and crafts, raffle prizes and the historic Poker Walk through Volcano.

Some of the fair’s featured taste sensations included a delicious breakfast, prepared by the Masons, Duck Dogs at The Union Hotel, barbecued burgers at St. George Hotel, pulled pork, chili verde, cornbread and sides from Jug & Rose Bakery, barbecued tri tip sandwiches at The General Store and Jamba Juice, to name a few.

The Independence Day Parade, led by Steve Cannon and Ellie Route, was a spirited reflection of Volcano citizens’ sense of community.

The Cannonball Run, founded 21 years ago by Bob and Maureen Stanish, is Volcano’s largest fundraiser. The proceeds from this event help fund our youth scholarships, maintenance of our cemeteries, local fire services, and Sober Grad Night, as well as maintenance of the village, including the planting of flowers, keeping our park beautiful, providing clean public restrooms, holiday decorations and on-going building restorations, assuring the historic flavor of Volcano remains steadfast.
