Come celebrate your County with the Amador County Historical Society at a Barbecue Steak Lunch, on Saturday, June 21, at 11 a.m., on the grounds of the Amador County Museum, 225 Church St., in Jackson.

There will be free Mine Model tours during the barbecue, in celebration of a new addition to the Mine Model. With the help of many friends, donating in Archie Fox’s memory, and after more than 20 years of playing the ancient Mine Model tape, we now have a new updated system, and a transfer of the tape to a CD, We’d like to extend a big thank you to Jim Guidi, of KVGC Hometown Radio, historian Cedric Clute and Bobby Keeling for their time and expertise converting the old tape to a CD.

Drop by for a great afternoon of fun, good food and entertainment. The featured speaker will be Frank Tortorich, Jr. a renowned expert on the Emigrant Trail.

Tickets are available from any director of the museum; at Teresa’s Place; at the ACHS office, 148 Main St., in Jackson; or at the Amador County Chamber of Commerce Office, 115 Main St., in Jackson. Tickets are $15 for members, or $10 for a new member who agrees to volunteer to help with museum tours on weekends. We do need volunteers. For more information, call 223-6386.
