The definition of a criterium, or crit, is a bike race held on a short course (usually less than 1 mile), often run on closed-off city center streets. Here’s an exceptional chance for runners to take to the streets crit style and enjoy plenty of goodies! The Inaugural Lodi Cyclefest 5K Run, will be held on Sunday, July 12, (taking place a few hours prior to the Fifth Annual Cyclefest criterium bike race), in downtown Lodi.

Just like proceeding bike criterium, participants will run four laps on the downtown Lodi .8 mile course with fans cheering you on. Each lap through will be counted via chip timing. Three of the laps will be “prem” laps where runners can win up to $250 in great running stuff. Random lap prizes will also be awarded to the field, so anyone can win! Overall male and female winners receive a custom engraved Michael David bottle of Zinfandel. Men and women age group wine awards will be given three division finishers deep.

After the race, participants will receive quite the treatment for the rest of the day! Entrants will finish the race in the Runners’ V.I.P. Tent, stocked with mimosas, coffee, hot chocolate, muffins, and more. They will also receive their very cool commemorative T-shirt, as well. Runners are also invited to stick around and watch the all-day cycling criteriums, beginning at 8:25 a.m. At 10:00 a.m., participants will have access to the Cyclefest V.I.P. Tent, featuring wine from Michael David Vineyards, beer from Lodi Brewery, and pasta feed from DiVinci’s. Also, participants are invited to watch cycling races all day long in the Fleet Feet / Mizuno V.I.P. tent.
