Donald L. Timm, 89, of Jackson, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2014 at Amador Residential Care after an extended illness. He was born at home in Berkeley, Calif., to Albert and Hazel (Sharp) Timm on July 11, 1925. He was a graduate of Berkeley High School and the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He loved music and played the clarinet and saxophone with The Bud Stone Band in Yosemite during summers in college. His love of aviation led to a career with United Airlines for 26 years and Lockheed Missiles and Space for 11 years. He was an instructor for the Wing Scouts Organization and a mentor for the Junior Achievement during his career at United. After retirement in 1991, he moved to Amador County from San Mateo, enjoying the country life and all of its riches. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Claudia, of Jackson, son, Jeff, and daughter, Lisa, both of Redwood City. Don and Claudia traveled extensively during their life together and particularly enjoyed their time spent in Maui, Hawaii. Honoring Don’s wishes, there will be no services. His ashes will be scattered at sea in Maui at a later date. Aloha. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras County.
