Evelyn C. Scott passed away at the age of 88, at her home in Pioneer, Calif. She was born to Walter and Willie (Folkner) Martin in Lawrence, Kan. Evelyn moved to Amador County in 1961, where she opened and operated her own restaurant, called Scotts 88 Café, in Pioneer, Calif., until 1971. Then in the summer she was employed by the U.S. Forest Service for YCC and Caltrans in the winter time. She also worked at Cooking for Snow Crews for five years. Evelyn belonged to a woman’s group called the Eastern Star, where she made many friends.

Evelyn is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Scott, and sister, Mamie Martin. She is survived by her half-sister, Freda Cottrell; half-brother. Buddy Henitiz; and cousin, Charlene Graves, plus many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend visitation, Saturday July 19, 2014, at 10 a.m., and funeral service, at 12 p.m. Interment will be at Amador Memorial Cemetery, in Pioneer, followed by a reception at Sierra House Restaurant, in Pine Grove.
