This year’s Big Red Barn fundraiser at Rancho Arroyo Seco in Ione will benefit Future Farmers of American (FFA) Boosters and Amador County Little League West. Both groups are supporters of local youth through agriculture and sports. Once again, Rancho Arroyo Seco will donate up to $7,500 in matching funds for the event. The goal is to contribute $10,000 to each of the organizations.

The event will be held on Saturday, September 6th at the BIG RED BARN on Hwy 104. Gates will open at 6:00 PM. Attendees will enjoy a dinner of BBQ tri-tip, chicken, beans, green salad and corn on the cob, all prepared by award winning caterer, Billy Bones BBQ. Cost is $35 for adults and $15 for children 5 to 10 years. Well known auctioneer Seth Seever will once again call the live auction. In addition, there will be a silent auction, raffle, no-host bar, and marshmallow target arcade for kids.

FFA Boosters support agricultural education, helping young people to develop careers, leadership and life skills. The group provides financial support for FFA students to attend workshops, competitions, leadership conferences and other events. They have also assisted in funding of the Ag teachers position at the high schools.

Amador County Little League West serves approximately 250 children in Amador County. They will use funds to install a concrete roadway from the Howard Park parking lot to the snack bar area and include a family patio with a shade structure adjacent to the snack bar. At this time, all of the area is a combination of dirt and gravel.

This is the 8th year this fundraiser has contributed funding for community projects. Tickets will go on sale in early August. If you cannot attend, donations of any amount are appreciated. Checks are made payable to BIG RED BARN 2014 Fundraiser and can be mailed to Rancho Arroyo Seco, P.O. Box 1730, Ione, CA 95640.
