Ja'nice Maria Bentley of Ione, CA, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the age of 60. She was born in Roseville, CA on November 1, 1953 to the late Joseph and Dolores (Elder) Esteves. Ja’nice was married to Mark Edward Bentley on April 7, 1979 in Auburn, CA. She worked as a phlebotomist before her children were born and then went to work at Preston Youth Authority as a cook when her children were older. Most recently she worked as phlebotomist at Quest Lab in Jackson. Ja’nice was a loving wife; she adored her children, and was devoted to her grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her; she never missed a special event and always attended her grandchildren’s sporting and school events. She was a best friend, loving, generous, and kind. Ja’nice always left the house put together, had a great work ethic, and was loved by all who knew her. Ja'nice is survived by her best friend and husband of 35 years, Mark Bentley, her daughters, Nina Bentley, Laura Wright and husband Bob Wright, and Kayla Bentley all of Ione, CA; brother, Joseph Esteves, Jr. and his wife and her best friend Penny of Applegate, CA; sister, Nadine Weinrich and husband Teri of Grass Valley, CA; grandchildren, Shawn Dunn, Kobe Wright, Madisyn Farris, Samantha Farris, Annastasia Farris, and Marcus Bentley. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Esteves. Ja’nice so proud of her grandson, Kobe Wright and his talent of shooting she was very supportive and always at his shoots. Ja’nice also played a vital role in the diagnosis and raising of her grandson, Marcus and his life with autism. Memorial contributions may be made to A&A Shooters C/O True Sportsman Club, P.O.
