Emergency personnel load Big O Tires employee Jeff Lackowski into an American Legion Ambulance Wednesday morning. According to information supplied by the Jackson Police Department, preliminary reports indicate customer Emilio Del Rio drove his vehicle into a work bay at the tire shop. Del Rio's vehicle experienced brake failure as he drove into the shop, however, causing the vehicle to continue in a forward motion and into Lackowski's path. The vehicle hit Lackowski's lower torso, pinning his leg against an alignment rack and Del Rio's vehicle. Lackowski was transported via ambulance to Sutter Amador Hospital. His condition was unknown as of press time Thursday morning. The accident is still under investigation.
