Theresa and Stephen Monson have manifested their dream and opened Serenity Center & Gift Shop. Offering everything for the body, mind and spirit. The shop is open six days a week, next to Mace Meadow Event Center, in Pioneer.

Elegant and intricately handmade jewelry from local artists enfolds the counters with jewel tones, and delicate chainmaille delights the touch. Walls are lined with custom journals, personal alter statues and elemental tools including sage, sacred feathers and abalone shells. The fragrant aroma of the Auric Blends incense selection is delightful, priced at ten for $1.50, and made in Granton, Calif., without charcoal or alcohol.

Enjoy reading a few of the books on the shelves, until you find one that calls to you, maybe creating an exceptional life, meridian tapping, happiness now or heart thoughts. If you are feeling a little frazzled, or just need some pep in your step, enjoy a rejuvenating Reiki session with Steve or Theresa, both Reiki Practitioners, or Gloria Banning, a Reiki Master.

Rei means spiritual wisdom, and Ki means life energy. Reiki has been beneficial in increasing ones power, releasing emotional imbalances, healing discomfort and even distant healing. Laying of the hands, or spiritual energy work has been part of humanity and a practice that dates back thousands of years. Energy is universal and non-denominational; light bulbs are not religious. By connecting and attuning personal energy through focus, meditation, dance and Reiki you can re-boot your system and open up the energy blocks in the body’s circuitry. Individual group and clinics are available. Call for scheduling information.

Have you heard about Chakradance? If not, Serenity Center & Gift Shop is offering a video viewing, with light refreshments, on Saturday, May 31. Seating is at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 and 4:30 p.m.; and the following Tuesday, June 3, at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. All showings are free to attendees, but seating is limited. Call 295-2003, or email serenitygifts@yahoo.com, to reserve your space.

The Awakening is a nine-week class series which begins with an introductory overview of Chakradance. As you progress, you will delve into one chakra each week, starting with the root and finishing with the crown. The final class focuses on the integration of the new knowledge into your daily practices. Each class is about 90 minutes, giving you plenty of time to explore the experience of Chakradance. Classes incorporate rhythmic music, dance, meditation and mandala work, which can allow connection within and to the world around you. A single Chakradance class is $25; the nine-week cycle is $215 and the private, single class is $35, with the nine-week cycle at $315. Current special is ten percent off of the nine-week Awakening for group and private classes. Each class is guided by certified facilitator, Theresa Monson.

Located at 26600 Meadow Drive, Serenity Center & Gift Shop is open Wednesday through Monday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is open until 8 p.m., on Thursdays and 5 p.m. on Sundays.
