The Kids Fit Summer Program, held at Amador Athletic Club, in Sutter Creek, for the past seven weeks, was a great success. Amador Athletic Club opened its doors to the kids of Amador County for a free summer fitness program. We had an average of 35 to 40 kids each day, ranging in age from 8 to 15.

The kids learned strength training, balance, yoga, cardio, kickboxing, agility drills and much more. All this was possible thanks to the trainers and employees of Amador Athletic Club. Mike Currie, Pamela Stroud, Dot Bonilla and Michael Bonilla all volunteered their time and expertise to teach these kids about health and fitness.

A huge thanks to the special guest instructors: Laura, from Rendezvous Primitive Arms, who was here each week to teach the kids archery; Ranger Tom, from the El Dorado National Forest Service Wilderness Program, who talked about safe hiking; JB, from the Northern California Fly Fishers Association, who showed the kids how to fly fish; Kristi had them moving with her Zumba Dance Class, and Vicky taught them how to make healthy food choices.

It was a great summer and all involved are looking forward to next year.
