The scene outside the American River Bank in Pioneer this afternoon, Monday, July 28, 2014.

UPDATE 2:21 P.M. Here is the first picture from Bill Lavallie on the scene, who reports the bank was the American River Bank across from the grocery store in Pioneer, and not the Bank of Amador, as first reported. Sheriff's deputies and other law enforcement are still going door to door in the area and performing traffic stops on vehicles. Stay tuned, pictures on the way.

Authorities are looking for a man who robbed the Bank of Amador in Buckhorn at around 1 p.m. today, Monday, July 28, 2014. The man is described as white, 5’9 inches tall, 170 pounds, clean-shaven and wearing a tan shirt and hat with dark glasses. He allegedly used a 9mm handgun and fled the scene on foot.

This is an Amador Ledger Dispatch breaking news story. If you see the man, don’t attempt to intervene, call 911.

American River Bank was the Bank of Amador before the acquisition and name change. Many local residents still refer to it as the Bank of Amador.

So sorry this happened to the sweet tellers and manager of our bank. I hope they are okay. If this bank robber finds his way to our place up the street, he will receive some vigilante justice....believe me.
