Pumpkin carving at the Jackson Rancheria

Jackson Rancheria Executive Chef Ed Wickman carved a 700-pound pumpkin for Halloween on Oct. 30.

The pumpkin was grown by Richard Larson of Granite Bay and given to Jackson Rancheria. "It was so pretty I thought it should be displayed somewhere," Larson said. And Wickman, an experienced giant pumpkin carver, was glad to take it on.

The pumpkin is part of the decorations for the casino's $275,000 Mad Money promotion and Halloween festivities.
