Starting Wednesday, the Amador Tennis Club has teamed up with the city of Jackson to offer a first-ever summer tennis camp, open to ages 6 and up. Beginning adults are also welcome. This four-day camp will provide instruction, play and competition for beginning and beginning-intermediate players in a group setting. Emphasis will be on learning and practicing fundamentals while having fun. For $25, participants will receive 1.5 hours of morning instruction per day for four days, beginning at 8 a.m. today.
The camp runs Wednesday through Saturday at the Argonaut High School tennis courts, with Session No. 1 running from today through Saturday. The second session in next week, Aug. 9-12. Drop-ins are welcome for $8 per day. Instructors and coaches from the local tennis community will use various tools for beginning instruction endorsed by the USTA, including foam and transition balls, fun drills, games and much more.
